Independent Contractor Agreements

THIS INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR AGREEMENT (the "Agreement") is dated this 19th Day of September 2023 between Client (The Somerset Showcase) and Contractor whose details are set out in Schedule 1.

Background

1. Duties and Responsibilities

During the term of this agreement, the contractor agrees and undertakes to observe and perform the terms and conditions ser out in this Agreement and in particular:

(a) report to the venue, 250 Orchard Road, 3rd Floor, at 10am and carry out duties from 10a.m.-4p.m.

(b) will assist the Client with ad hoc errands, including but notwithstanding, handing out of door gifts, steaming display clothing, assisting buyers with changing rooms and moving of chairs at the venue.

(c) consent to professional photography and videography ongoing at the event. Contractor agrees not to infringe on any copyright, patent, trademark or other intellectual property rights of the organiser.

2. Fee & Payment

(a) In consideration of the services rendered by the Contractor, The Somerset Showcase will pay the Contractor $11 per hour from 10a.m. - 4p.m., and all other arreas should an extension of work hours be agreed upon during the event.

(b) Fees will be paid before the end of 2nd October.

3. Governing Law

(a) This Agreement shall be governed by, interpreted and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore.

I have read, understand, and agree to abide by the terms and conditions of this agreement (all provisions 1-3)

I hereby acknowledge to take absolute care with preventing damages to the venue. I am directly responsible to Design Orchard for any damage caused by me.

I hereby give my consent to use my photographs for event promotional use.

Each participant exhibits in his or her own legal capacity in accordance with prevailing regulations and laws of Singapore. Except as specifically provided in this agreement or where the law requires a different standard, participants agree that the organiser is not responsible for any loss, property damage, death, illness, or bodily injury caused to participants and their employees, agents, or representatives at the event. To the maximum extent permissible under applicable law, the organiser will not be responsible to the participant or any third party claims through the participant for any direct, indirect, special or consequential, economic, or other damages arising in any way out of your attendance at the event.
